Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District crews knocked out a brush fire that briefly threatened homes in south Reno. It was reported around 2PM, Tuesday, in the area of Rim Rock Drive and Minnetonka Circle. The fire burned a half of an acre on the hillside behind homes. Crews had structure protection in place for three homes and at one point recommended evacuations. The fire is under investigation.
