City of Reno Preparing Appeal of Lemmon Valley Court Ruling

Reno’s City Attorney Karl Hall is preparing the appeal of a court ruling that holds the city responsible for negligence and flood damage to dozens of homes in Lemmon Valley in 2017. The appeal will go to the state supreme court. The city’s claim is that it was denied due process, asserting that some of the 50 plaintiffs who were part of the suit hadn’t actually suffered flood damage. And despite the ongoing worries the people who live in the North Valleys, the council continues to allow new construction in those flood risk areas.
