Reno City Council Moves Forward With Moana Pool Plan

Reno City Council approved a conditional $9 million pledge agreement with the William Pennington Foundation toward the construction of a pool at Moana Springs Park. Reno Vice Mayor Naomi Duerr calls it a a milestone day for recreation in the City of Reno. The new 35-meter aquatic center is estimated to cost around $18 million. The City of Reno will continue to fundraise to reach this goal together with Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics (SNCA). The aquatic center is expected to have an outdoor water play area, geothermal soaking pools and a meeting room as part of its design.
