A standoff in the Wingfield Springs area that lasted more than three hours, ended in the arrest of David Shaeffer. Sparks Police responded to a call of a possible hostage situation around 7:15AM Tuesday, at a home on Ingleston Drive near Wingfield Hills Road.

Damon O’Connel of the Sparks Police Department says Schaeffer’s ex wife says she was not being held against her will. Schaeffer is now in the Washoe County Jail on a charge of Obstructing, and on a hold for a Felony Warrant out of California.
