Reno City Council has approved the proposed Daybreak Community. The original plan, which was rejected , called for 4700 homes between Hidden Valley, Donner Springs and South Meadows near Veterans Parkway. After the plan was rejected, the developer sued. The developer agreed to reduce the community to 3995 units. The revised plan also calls for more open space, four parks, and improved storm drains. Councilmember Naomi Duerr says the changes validate the original rejection, and she still opposes it.
Council members Jenny Brekhus, and Mayor Hillary Schieve also opposed.
