The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has announced a guilty verdict for a man convicted of five DUI’s. 33-year-old Jose Alejandro Figueroa,of Reno was found guilty after a two-day trial in District Court. Sentencing is set for November. He faces up to 15 years in prison. Police say on January 1, an off-duty officer who was leaving the police station, was following another driver who was failing to maintain a lane and almost hit a light pole and nearby parking lot gate. An on-duty patrol officer pulled the driver over and identified him as Figueroa. During the trial, Deputy District Attorney Christopher Day showed evidence of Figueroa’s dangerous driving, as well as Figueroa’s blood analysis, which showed that he had nearly twice the legal limit for alcohol and over three times the legal limit of marijuana in his system while driving.
