The RTC of Washoe County continue work on Virginia Street. There will be some upcoming changes to your commute as you head to Midtown Reno. Starting today the RTC will close Center Street at Virginia Street. Drivers can also expect intermittent closures on Mary Street at Virginia. These closures will be in place so crews can begin construction on the roundabout at this intersection. Crews will sequence this work by completing underground utility improvements on Mary Street first, then concrete sidewalks. The roundabout will be constructed in two sections to maintain southbound traffic on Virginia Street. The entire construction of the roundabout will take approximately six months. During the closure, northbound through traffic will be detoured from Holcomb Avenue to Center Street to Liberty Street. Businesses will remain accessible.
