Deputy Attacked by Suspect’s Dog in Spanish Springs

Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Spanish Springs man Wednesday morning for battery on two women and burglarizing two homes. The Sheriff’s Office was called for a possible residential burglary in progress on the 1400 block of Kinglet Drive around 10:15am. When deputies arrived, 46-year-old Patrick Sparhawk of Spanish Springs was outside in front of the house next door, and shouted threats at the deputies before going inside his garage. A perimeter was set up around the home, and after try to get Sparhawk to surrender in the his back yard, one of the suspect’s dogs bit the K9 officer and his handler. The deputy shot an killed the dog, and took Sparhawk into custody where he’s being held on multiple charges.
