Reno City Attorney Facing Scrutiny Over Efforts To Move The Wild Orchid

Reno City Attorney Karl Hall is facing scrutiny over his offices effort to convince the city to run strip clubs out of downtown Reno. The Reno Gazette Journal is reporting Hall owned an office building near the Wild Orchid Men’s Club, that was mentioned in disclosure forms, but they report, he didn’t disclose it in terms of potential conflicts of interest. The paper also reports he didn’t disclose that the property was on the market while the city council was debating possible regulations on strip clubs. The Reno City Attorneys office staff had argued to the council that strip clubs degrade the property values of nearby businesses. Hall told the RGJ he didn’t consider it a conflict. The attack on the clubs included undercover operations by city hired investigators.
