Cold Springs, Spanish Springs and Sparks residents say they’re having problems with coyotes in their neighborhoods. There are reports that that 2 larger dogs have been killed and smaller dogs were taken by the coyotes while their owners were with them. The Nevada Department of Wildlife reminds you that if you encounter a coyote to make noise and don’t run. You can check their website for other tips to assist but say that coyotes can become used to some abatement tactics, so you may have to vary your methods of scaring them away.
