Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Increasing Patrols This Week

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is stepping up patrols this holiday as part of a Joining Forces campaign. The statewide initiative starts December 20th and runs through January 3rd. The sheriff’s office says more deputies will be on the road looking for people driving under the influence. Funding for the extra patrols is made possible by a grant received from the Nevada Department of Public Safety/Office of Traffic Safety. Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement in the areas of: DUI, speed, distracted driving, seat belt and pedestrian safety.
