Nurse Attacked at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center

A transient whose blood tested at nearly six times the legal limit was arrested Christmas Eve, after attacking a nurse at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. 60 year old Douglas Allen Harnden was arrested after being combative with staffers, and it took six staff members to restrain him. A registered nurse had to undergo a protocol for possible exposure to infectious diseases as a result of the scuffle. He suffered an injury to his thumb. Charges against Harnden include felony battery on a protected person. The suspects blood alcohol level was point-475, the legal limit for driving is point-oh-eight.
