Truckee Meadows Community College has confirmed the death of an assistant soccer coach as a result of COVID-19. 54 year old Gonzalo Lopez, had been on the soccer staff at TMCC since their inaugural season in 2019. Lopez had been a soccer coach for 25 years at the club, high school and collegiate level and had been a goalkeeper coach for Reed High School. He spent more than a month in intensive care. Washoe County Health Officer Kevin Dick says besides the one reported death, there have been 16 additional positive cases, bringing the total to 820. There have also been 13 additional recoveries, bringing that total to 278 for Washoe County.
