The Washoe County School District has a “new” superintendent. It’s Dr. Kristen McNeill, who’s been on the job as the interim superintendent since Traci Davis was fired on July 1st of last year. This is her 25th year with the district, so she’s hardly new.  Trustees voted in favor six to one during the board’s virtual meeting yesterday, with Trustee Jacqueline Calvert as the only ‘no’ vote. McNeil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration and a Master’s degree in Instructional and Curricular Studies from UNLV, as well as a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno.  The decision is effective immediately.
