Nevada Gov, Reno Mayor, City Manager, Police Chief Hold Press Conference

Rioters vandalized Reno City Hall, the Reno Police Department, numerous businesses, and other property Saturday night. Acting Reno Police Chief Tom Robinson says if you were among them, you will be be caught and prosecuted.

The riots erupted after a group of peaceful protestors gathered to mourn the murder of George Floyd. Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak said many of the rioters were from out of town, and he had some strong words for them.

Former Reno Police Chief and acting City Manager Jason Soto backed all those mourning the murder of George Floyd. He praised the response from Reno Police.

Those actions include de-escalation techniques that resulted in no deaths and only a couple of minor injuries. Sunday morning, members of the community young & old came together to clean up the damage. Reno City Hall will be closed today to allow for more cleaning and more damage assessment.
