Crews Respond to Multiple Lightning Sparked Fires

Crews are responding to multiple lightning-sparked fires in Northern Nevada and Eastern California. Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch reports two fires actively burning in the area of Hallelujah Junction, about 30 miles north of Reno near California State Route 70. The largest, the Railroad Fire is at 300 acres, while the Hill Fire is at about 30 acres. The Railroad fire is 80 percent contained.

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is responded to a lightning-sparked fire on the eastern side of Peavine Mountain. The Pole Line fire is estimated to be at 22 acres and is 80-percent contained. Rain has helped to reduce the spread of the flames. No structures are threatened. The Jobs Fire, about 4 miles west of the Gardnerville Ranchos was stopped at a 1/4 of an acre.
