Evacuations Ordered Near The Site of The Loyalton Fire

The Loyalton Fire burning near Loyalton, California has grown to 36,250 acres with 5% containment . The cause remains under investigation. Mandatory Evacuation Orders have been issued for Balls Canyon Road, Long Valley Road, Bordertown and Copperfield. The American Red Cross of Nevada opened an evacuation information center at the Washoe County Senior Services. Nevada residents under mandatory evacuation can go to 1155 E. 9th Street in Reno for information and resources on places to stay. A Dense Smoke Advisory is in effect in the Reno area due to overflowing smoke from the Loyalton Fire.
