Nevada is rejecting a diminished testing effort now recommended by the CDC. State of Nevada health officials say they will not adopt the new guidance and will continue to strongly recommend testing for all individuals – symptoms or no symptoms – who have been in contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Prior to the change, CDC guidelines recommended testing “close contacts of persons with Covid infection” so that “contacts of individuals with SARS-CoV-2 infection be quickly identified and tested.” The Governor says there is no scientific basis for the change and adds if you come in contact with someone with Covid, get tested.
