President Trump’s Weekend Rallies Have Been Canceled

President Trump’s scheduled weekend Nevada rallies are canceled. Trump was scheduled to hold a campaign event inside a private hangar at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport Saturday. The airport confirms they informed the private hangar owner that a gathering of 5,000 people violates the law, and the lease. Daren Griffin, President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, says “We would hold our tenants to the same standard whether it was a Democratic or Republican rally or any other type of gathering. We are complying with the Governor’s directive and Washoe County’s recommendation during a pandemic.” Governor Steve Sisolak denies any personal intervention and says everyone has known the guidelines for public gatherings for weeks, including the Trump campaign. But Tim Murtaugh, the Trump 2020 communications director says, President Trump “Will be traveling to Nevada on the dates planned. Additional details will be announced soon.”
