The Douglas County Officer injured in a Sunday night shooting in Gardnerville was Sergeant John Lenz.  It happened around 11:15 Sunday night near the corner of Douglas Avenue and Gilman Avenue. The Sergeant was shot in the neck and face and flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno with serious injuries. His bullet proof vest protected him from two shots to the chest.  The suspect in the case is known fugitive Nicholas Berreman, who was wounded in the hand in the exchange and arrested.  Kayla Horse Berremen who was driving the car was also arrested.
