Washoe County Commissioners Approve COVID Mitigation Plan

Washoe County Commissioners approved the county’s plan for local COVID mitigation measures. The Governors latest directive removes statewide social distancing minimums May 1st, and removes business capacity limits on June 1. Commissioners, like Vaughn Hartung at times were frustrated with the limits they are working under, and wants to open up more.

The Washoe County plan recommends that businesses follow CDC guidelines for social distancing, allowing business owners to set their own limits. They also approve groups of 10 being allowed in public places. Commissioners were frustrated with the limits on what they can actually do, at least until June 1st.
