[KOH] A man drowned yesterday in Lake Tahoe off Chimney Beach. 69-year-old Xavier Olivas from Yucca Valley, California, was last seen around 1 p.m. He reportedly jumped off a boat, with intentions to swim to shore but hadn’t been seen since.
Volunteer rescue divers with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office HASTY Team found a man’s body last night submerged in Lake Tahoe off Chimney Beach. According to the sheriff’s office, the man fits the description of Olivas. The medical examiner will confirm identification, and the cause and manner of death.
