Crews are making progress on the Caldor fire which has burned more than 216,000 acres and is now 49% contained. Evacuation orders for the city of South Lake Tahoe were downgraded to warnings on Sunday. The areas of Fallen Leaf Lake, Christmas Valley, Meyers and north upper Truckee remain under evacuation orders. Highway 50 and Kingsbury Grade on the Nevada side have been reopened. But, Highway 50 remains closed from Sawmill Road in Meyers to Fresh Pond in El Dorado County.
