Hate Crimes Up in Nevada

Hate crimes in Nevada more than doubled as the pandemic began, growing from 47 in 2019 to 113 in 2020. Hate crime statistics are released by the FBI and state and local law enforcement. 48 of the state’s 63 agencies submitted data. 38 of the hate crimes were reported by Metro Police in Las Vegas. People were targeted for being Hispanic, Gay, Transgender, Heterosexual, and in one case, for being Mormon. 15 people were attacked for being black.
