Suspect in Officer-Involved Shooting Identified

The man who died after an officer-involved shooting in South Reno was 23-year-old Jacori Shaw of Reno. According to the Washoe County Medical Examiner, Shaw died from a gunshot wound to the chest. The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Feb. 23rd. Sparks Police Department detectives were looking for Shaw, who was wanted for questioning in a murder investigation, and for felony gun violations. After chasing Shaw, Sparks Police released a K9 to detain him. He then pulled out a gun and pointed it at detectives. A Sparks Police detective then fired shots, hitting Shaw. The Reno Police Department is leading the investigation.
