The family of an Indiana couple who went missing for more than a week in rural Nevada say they are frustrated with the Esmeralda County Sheriff’s Office, and the rules surrounding the “Silver Alert” System. One of those rules is that the missing person must be from the state of Nevada. Ronnie and Beverly Barker were missing since at least March 27th, the Silver Alert was issued on April 4th. in the meantime, Ronny Barker died while the couple’s vehicle was stuck in the mud, probably from dehydration. The couple’s nephew Travis Peters asks, “Who cares where they live?” Apparently, according to the rules, a Silver Alert should not have been issued at all, and NSP made an exception to make it happen. Beverly Baker is out of a Reno hospital.
