Reno Fire Investigators have charged 38-year-old Thomas Lewis with five counts of third-degree arson. He allegedly set a string of fires starting Friday, July 22, between the hours of 5:50 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Firefighters responded to 4 small brush fires in the area of S. Virginia Street and Plumb Lane, and then for burning pallets and commercial equipment behind RESCO at 401 E. Plumb Lane. Another was set Sunday, in front of the HOPES clinic, on W. 5th Street. And Monday, firefighters responded to three separate brush fires on S. McCarran between Talbot Drive and Lakeside Drive. Police say tips from the public helped.
