Sparks is looking for a fire chief, just days after they hired one. Mark Lawson was named chief at the end of last month, but is now out. The city learned that serious criminal charges are pending against Mark Lawson. City Manager Neil Krutz released a video to Sparks Fire Department Employees Monday.

No word yet on what charges Mark Lawson is facing. Lawson previously served with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
