A suspect wanted in California was taken into custody last night at a Wells Avenue Motel after a four-hour standoff. Police learned the suspect was at Motel 6 and put it under surveillance for several hours before the standoff began at around 5:30 p.m. Patrol officers, the special weapons and tactics team and a regional crime unit took him into custody at about 9:30 p.m. There were no injuries. Police then learned of a vehicle associated with that suspect nearby and police stopped it on Sutro Street. Police said all the people inside cooperated and there were no arrests. The suspect’s name and his charges were not immediately available.
