(Reno, NV) — The body of a female was discovered Wednesday morning on campus at University of Nevada-Reno. Campus police say the human remains were discovered on the north end of the Quad between the Paul Laxalt Mineral Engineering and Mackay School of Mines buildings around 7:10am. The discovery was made by campus workers. In a Facebook post, officials said there is no threat to campus. There is currently an ongoing investigation by the University Police Department. The area the body was discovered around was closed for a time Wednesday but it has since been reopened. It’s not clear how long the remains had been there before being discovered. There were no signs of trauma on the body.
