The bill that requires health insurance companies to include gender-affirming care for transgender people has been signed into law by Gov. Joe Lombardo. SB 163 by State Senator Melanie Scheible requires certain insurance polices to provide coverage for treatment of gender dysphoria and gender incongruence. Providers are required to consult with an experienced provider of that treatment when considering appeals of any denial of coverage.
