[KOH] After a grueling six-hour plus meeting, the Douglas County School District Board of Trustees selected Joey Gilbert’s law firm to replace long-term district counsel Maupin, Cox, and Legoy.

The board questioned Gilbert about his legal qualifications in the education area:

But Gilbert said he planned to have a team of experts on call in specific areas of the law.

Maupin, Cox, and Legoy had been the district’s attorneys since 1995.
