After a grueling six-hour plus meeting, the Douglas County School District Board of Trustees selected Joey Gilbert’s law firm to replace long-term district counsel Maupin, Cox, and Legoy, which has represented the district since 1995. The discussion today sometimes became heated.

That’s board member Tony Magnotta. Gilbert readily admitted he personally doesn’t have the educational law background, but he vowed to bring together top legal experts to represented the district.
