A portable heater is being blamed for starting a fire that destroyed a trailer Friday morning. Truckee Meadows Fire Protection arrived just after 4:30 a.m. to a trailer on Sugar Hill Drive in Sun Valley after the heater ignited a mattress. No injuries were reported, and crews knocked the fire down before it could spread to nearby structures.
