(Reno, NV) — A man who killed an 18-year-old woman at a motel in Downtown Reno is heading to prison. On Monday, Todd Tonnochy was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after ten years for the murder of Hailey Nieto. Tonnochy shot Nieto to death in March of last year, then dismembered her body to make it fit into a duffle bag. He was found guilty of second-degree murder in August. Judge Scott Freeman, who sentenced Tonnochy, says he intends to see him die in prison.
