City of Reno Takes Over Control of Reno-Tahoe Airport Fire Department

(Reno, NV) — The city of Reno is now in control of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Fire Department. The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority transferred the airport’s fire services to the city this week. It means two-dozen airport firefighters are now employed by the city of Reno. Officials say the move was needed since the airport is growing, adding that it will improve public safety. Some current Reno firefighters will also be trained in responding to airport emergencies and will be able to join the team at Reno-Tahoe.
