(Reno, NV) — Richard Edwards is close to becoming the new chief of the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. The district’s Board of Fire Commissioners unanimously appointed Edwards as chief on Monday. He has been serving as the Fire Chief and Deputy Director of Emergency Services for the City of Stockton, California since 2020. He has worked in Stockton since 2000, starting as a firefighter-paramedic. An employment contract for Edwards is expected to be presented to the board within the next few weeks.
