Much of Nevada Remains in Moderate to Extreme Drought

More than half of Nevada remains in some form of a drought. That is according to the latest Drought Monitor map. Most of Southern Nevada, including Las Vegas, is in an extreme to exceptional drought. Most of Northern Nevada, including Reno, is considered abnormally dry, while other parts of the region, like Fernley, are in a moderate drought. That’s despite Northern Nevada finishing the snow season in April with a snowfall level of about average. By comparison, last July, only one percent of Nevada was in a drought.
