Bill That Would Have Ended Daylight Savings Time Fails to Meet Legislative Deadline

(Carson City, NV) — Nevada will still be changing the time by an hour twice a year like 47 other states do. A bill that would have ended daylight savings time in Nevada failed to meet the recent legislative deadline. The bill was proposed by Assemblywoman Selena La Rue Hatch of Washoe County. It was one of more than 30 bills that failed to reach the deadline for bills to pass from committee in the opposite house of where they were introduced. Arizona and Hawaii are the only two states that do not “spring forward” and “fall back.” Other bills that died include one that would have provided raises for Clark County School District trustees, allowed doctors to help terminally ill patients end their lives and one that would have allowed bicyclists to ride through red lights if traffic permitted.
