(Spanish Springs, NV) — The Marie Fire in Spanish Springs has burned at least 104 acres of land and is 30 percent contained. The fire prompted evacuation orders, which were lifted late Tuesday night. The wind-driven fire was moving east but all forward progress has been stopped. Overnight, more than 14-hundred NV Energy customers in Spanish Springs were without power. Officials say it was due to a downed pole or wire, though it’s not clear if it’s related to the fire.
