(Carson City, NV) — Local officials and land advocates are gearing up for what’s expected to be a massive land war if a portion of the proposed Senate Reconciliation Bill passes. At issue is a proposal by the Trump Administration to sell about 33-and-a-half million acres of federal land. Yesterday, officials with the Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter met with organizers and Representative Dina Titus to discuss plans to organize against the proposal. About 65 thousand acres of federal land that might be up for sale are located in Clark County near Frenchman Mountain, Sunrise Mountain and Red Rock.
