(Reno, NV) — Washoe County is entering into an agreement with the cities of Reno and Sparks to improve firefighting services. On Tuesday, the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of entering the interlocal agreement. This comes after a state Senate bill was passed into law earlier this year. It requires the county and cities to create a board to conduct a comprehensive study of regional firefighting efforts. The Washoe County Commission will appoint two members to the board next month. The Reno City Council will vote on the agreement at next week’s meeting.
