(Fernley, NV) — The Fernley City Council will censure Councilman Stan Lau. The council made the decision by a 3-to-1 vote on Wednesday, following recent misconduct allegations against Lau. He has also been indefinitely removed from all committees he was assigned to.
Councilmember Joe Mendoza commented on the allegations prior to the vote.
Fellow councilmember Ryan Hanan defended Lau’s constitutional rights.
Last month, Lau was arrested on battery and injury to property charges following an alleged altercation with a construction worker.
