(Quincy, CA) — Two Reno residents are dead after a shootout that closed Highway 395 just across the border in California. It took place on Saturday at the Long Valley Agricultural Inspection Station north of Reno. The California Highway Patrol says the incident happened just before 9 a.m. when two vehicles with Reno residents pulled over and a confrontation began. At some point, a CHP officer started firing. Two people were shot and died at the scene. The case remains under investigation.
