The United States launched another round of airstrikes against Iranian military targets after an attack in Jordan killed two American service members. CNN reported that the operation targeted facilities linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, including air-defense positions, surveillance sites and missile infrastructure.
President Donald Trump described the strikes as retaliation for the deaths and said the campaign was intended to prevent further attacks on American forces. Iranian officials responded by warning that additional U.S. action would bring a stronger military response.
The latest escalation has increased security concerns across the Persian Gulf. Iran has launched missiles and drones toward U.S. bases and regional infrastructure, while Kuwait and Bahrain have activated air-defense systems. Damage has also been reported at energy and water facilities in Kuwait.
The fighting follows the collapse of a temporary ceasefire arrangement between Washington and Tehran. The Strait of Hormuz remains a central point of tension because of its importance to international oil shipments. Regional governments are monitoring the conflict as military activity continues to spread beyond Iran’s borders.
