Armed Man Arrested After Running From Law Enforcement

An Incline Village man was arrested Monday after firing gunshots in the Kings Beach area, then running from law enforcement. Deputies with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office were called to the area of Bear Street and Rainbow Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, on a report of shots fired. Deputies found five shell casings at the scene and discovered that the suspect had been in an argument and fired the handgun without hitting anyone. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Samuel Navarro of Incline Village. He was stopped in King Beach around 12:30 a.m. Monday, and tried to run. After what the sheriff’s office called a “brief but intense manhunt,” Navarro was found and arrested. A gun used in the shooting was found inside his car, along with 17 grams of meth.
