New Nevada Laws Take Effect Today

(Carson City, NV) — Several new Nevada laws take effect today. One allows the installation of cameras on school buses. They will be used to catch drivers who illegally pass stopped buses with activated stop arms. Another law prohibits landlords and homeowners’ associations from banning the display of religious or cultural items on doors and windows. Another law prohibits public schools from replacing human counselors or psychologists with artificial intelligence systems. The state is also forming the Regional Rail Transit Advisory Working Group, which will study the feasibility of rail transit in Nevada. And, county officials are now required to be registered voters in the state of Nevada.
