NEW SAFEPACK APP IMPROVES UNR SAFETY — Texting, tweeting, sharing, commenting, liking and swiping are constant activities in a student’s daily routine. Now that Police Services at the University of Nevada have launched a mobile safety app, students won’t have to look beyond their smartphone for safety resources. “SafePack” is the mobile app that gives users access to campus information and personal safety tools. It includes links for campus map downloads, emergency contacts, and emergency plans to report a tip, access safe rides and contact police and support services. It also includes a personal safety toolbox with a flashlight, an alarm, personal safety tips and the University’s network of emergency “blue light” phones. SafePack is now available in the App Store and Google Play.
