Money Approved For Anti-Bullying Hotline – The legislative Interim Finance Committee has approved spending $114,000, for a new anti-bullying hotline. Legislators passed an anti-bullying bill last session that called for the hotline as a way to reduce bullying-related suicides. The state will work with the Crisis Call Center, which runs a suicide prevention hotline. Two lines at the center would be dedicated to bullying calls, and staff would help callers make reports to authorities or refer them to mental health services. The center will also accept text message no later than the end of next July.
