The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says all six vehicles recovered from lower Kiowa Pond late last month were previously reported as stolen. The most recent reported theft occurred in 2007, the remaining five thefts occurred between 1996 and 1998. Three of the vehicles were reported stolen in Reno, two from Sparks and one from Sacramento, CA. All agencies involved have been notified of the recovery. The Sheriff’s Office partnered with the U.S. Forest Service, City Auto Towing, Campbell Construction Company and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles to carry out this recovery operation.
